Wheeler Chiropractic was originally founded by Dr. Robert Wheeler who was born in Tallahassee while his parents completed college at FSU, but they were both from Pensacola. Dr. Wheeler's ancestors are of local Creek Indian and European settler descent. Some of the first buildings in Civil Square, including the Quina House, were built by his Spanish ancestors. After graduating from Gulf Breeze High, Dr. Wheeler received his AA from Pensacola Jr. College. He married Kendra Morgan also from the area and then moved to attend school in Atlanta.
Dr. Wheeler received a bachelor's degree in nutrition from Life College in 1995 and then his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Life University in 1998. He practiced for 15 years in Anchorage, Alaska and some remote Indian villages. In 2013 he moved back to Pace where he started Wheeler Chiropractic Clinics LLC.
He is a former Tae kwon-do instructor, beekeeper, father of four children and 3 grandchildren. Dr. Wheeler is also an avid writer and has published children's bedtime stories and coloring books, fantasy novels, adult coloring books, audiobooks and his first non-fiction self-help guide for widows. He also writes poetry and has published an interactive CDROM on Orthopedic and Neurodiagnosis. His works can be found on Amazon, Audible and other sites under RK Wheeler or Dr. Robert K. Wheeler Jr.
After his daughter was widowed unexpectedly in Utah, he and his wife decided to find a doctor to take over his practice so that they might move to help raise their grandchildren and assist both daughters who live together. While he is saddened to leave his patients, he knows they are in good hands with Dr. Heifner who he has worked with closely to ensure that the same quality of care will be available for all their patients.
